The 9th RMA Music and Philosophy Study Group Conference is a two-day, in-person, international conference, to be held on Thursday 11th and Friday 12th of July 2024 at King’s College, London. The event will offer an opportunity for those with an interest in music and philosophy to share and discuss their work, in the hope of furthering dialogue in this area.
The conference comprises sessions in the following areas:
- Keynotes from invited speakers.
- Associates Sessions, hosted by organisations with related interests.
- Themed Sessions, organised by individual session convenors, who have issued calls for papers on specific topics.
- Free Sessions, inclusive of papers and lecture-recitals on all topics relating to music and philosophy.

Registration:
“Early bird” registration is open now and is available until the end of April; this includes discounted registration fees.
There are a number of registration options available, including discounts for members of the RMA/BSA. If you attended the previous MPSG conference you are considered an MPSG member and you are also entitled to this reduced fee. Unwaged and student registration options provide further fee reductions. All delegates, including speakers, are required to register.
If you wish to join the optional conference dinner (on the Thursday evening), please ensure that you book this “add-on” during the conference registration process (this appears at the bottom of the registration options listings). The meal can be booked up until 1 month before the conference.
The main conference catering is default vegetarian.
