A reminder that the deadline for proposals to the Society for Cognitive Studies of the Moving Image 2016 conference is coming up on January 1. This year the conference takes place at Cornell University, Ithaca, NY, June 1-4, 2016. Keynote speakers will include Richard Gerrig (Stony Brook) and Michael L. Anderson (Franklin and Marshall).
Details on submission are available on the SCSMI website.
Further questions about the conference, the abstract submission process or any problems encountered during submission should be addressed to SCSMI2016@cornell.edu.
SCSMI is an interdisciplinary organization made up of scholars interested in cognitive, philosophical, aesthetic, neuroscientific, and evolutionary approaches to the analysis of film and other moving-image media. Proposals should facilitate the society’s mission: to foster an interdisciplinary dialogue between moving image theorists, historians, critics, and philosophers, and scientifically-oriented researchers working on moving-image media.
