The Yearbook of Moving Image Studies (YoMIS) is seeking for expansion of the current editorial board and searches for interested scientists, scholars, artists and filmmakers. The goal of YoMIS is to reflect, trigger and collect the international academic, intellectual and artistic dimension of the moving image. YoMIS will be enriched by disciplines like media and film studies, image science, (film) philosophy, art history, game studies and other research areas related to the moving image in general.
YoMIS is a double blind peer-reviewed interdisciplinary publication realized as ePub and PDF and supported by an international scientific marketing. In this perspective YoMIS is a premium publication conceptualized and managed by the founders and administration board of the Research Group Moving Image Science in Kiel, Germany (www.movingimagescience.com).
The board members will give significant feedback about the quality of submissions and contribution to the academic and intellectual field. The board members are expected to participate actively in the review process (evaluation with questionnaire, reading of articles, supervising the completion of articles). Members must have outstanding qualities in the academic field, art or filmmaking. A doctorate, significant publishing and reviewing experience, or excellent skills and experience in the relevant field of artistic work, are welcome.
Board members names will be listed on www.movingimagescience.com and www.buechner-verlag.de. Members get the privilege to name the board membership of YoMIS as one of their professional activities. The impact of YoMIS is enhanced by the annual conference Moving Images (Bewegtbilder) taking place at the University of Applied Science Kiel, Germany. All board members are free to submit abstracts for the conference and present results of academic research or artistic work.
If you are interested, please submit the following information to the managing editors of YoMIS Dr. Lars C. Grabbe, Prof. Dr. Patrick Rupert-Kruse and Prof. Dr. Norbert M. Schmitz via kontakt@bewegtbildwissenschaft.de.
