The Inter-University Workshop on Mind, Art and Morality seeks to explore the interconnections between different areas of philosophy and, more specifically, issues lying at the intersection of ethics, aesthetics and the philosophy of mind.
In previous editions, the Workshop has been devoted either to the work of a particular philosopher, such as Richard Wollheim, Jonathan Dancy, Christine Korsgaard, Shaun Nichols, David Filkenstein, and Malcolm Budd; or to exploring topics like the Philosophy of Music (with Peter Kivy, Noël Carroll and Derek Matravers), Self-Knowledge (with David Filkenstein and Sarah Sawyer), Art and Negative Emotions (with Susan Feagin and Eileen John), the Cognitive Value of Fiction (with Gregory Currie), and Film and Philosophy (with Robert Pippin).
The 2024 edition will explore experimental philosophical perspectives on ethics, aesthetics and the philosophy of mind.

Call for Papers
The organisers invite submissions on the topic of the Workshop this year. Authors should submit 2-page extended abstracts (size 12-font, single-spaced) by the 15th of August 2024. Submissions should be sent to ryan.p.doran@ub.edu. The layout of the manuscript should accommodate anonymous refereeing (i.e. name and email on a separate sheet, and not in the text). Notification of acceptance will be by September 15th 2024.
Talks are for 1-hour slots, with 30 minutes for the talk, and 30 minutes for Q&A.
Thanks to support from their sponsors (see below), the organisers will be able to cover the travel of a small number of presenters who do not have recourse to institutional means. If your participation would be conditional on receiving such support, please indicate this when submitting your abstract, along with where you would be travelling from (so they can see how many presenters they can offer support to).
