23rd-25th July, 2014

Keynote speakers

Professor Alison Stone, University of Lancaster
Professor Robert Hopkins, University of Sheffield

A great many areas of philosophy are concerned with questions about value. From the areas traditionally conceived as a part of ‘value theory’ – ethics, metaethics, aesthetics, social and political philosophy – to epistemology, metaphysics and philosophy of language, mind and psychology, there is an enduring interest in questions about what value is, and about what is valuable.

For this reason the organisers invite submissions of abstracts of 500-1000 words. The organisers welcome submissions from graduate students, or those who have submitted a PhD in the last two years. Submissions may take an analytic, continental, historical or cross-disciplinary approach to any of the many problems surrounding value, broadly construed.

Submissions must be emailed to valueconference@shef.ac.uk by 21 March, 2014
