Selma Jeanne Cohen Prize in Dance Aesthetics

posted in: Uncategorized

The Selma Jeanne Cohen Prize in Dance Aesthetics will be awarded this fall by the American Society for Aesthetics.

Our guidelines have been revised. This year we are accepting nominations for articles only published in the past two years (July 1, 2014 – June 30, 2016). In 2017 we will award the prize for books and alternate thereafter. Complete guidelines are here: aesthetics-online.org

The deadline is July 1, 2016. Nominees need NOT be current members of the ASA. Self-nominations are welcome, as are nominations by journal editors.

The winner will be notified in early August. We will provide travel funds to attend our annual meeting in Seattle November 16-19 and accept the prize of $1000 to be awarded at the annual business meeting Saturday, Nov. 19.

In addition, ASA will host a breakfast meeting in honor of the winner with all dance scholars at the meeting on Saturday, Nov. 19 at the conference hotel.
