July - September 2010
This year's Proms has an exciting programme which includes music by Purcell, Berlioz, Takemitsu, Ravel, Stravinsky and Radiohead's Jonny Greenwood.
As last year's BBC Proms Literary festival was a success last year, it'll be running again in 2010. This year's highlights include Matthew Sweet who will give dramatic readings, celebrating the infamous villains from Victorian fiction, joined by award-winning biographer Michael Holroyd and writer Elaine Showalter; Ian McMillan discusses Gilbert and Sullivan, with writer Ian Bradley, author of a complete annotated version of their works; Prize-winning author Jamila Gavin, Jatinder Verma and Rana Mitter explore great Bollywood stories.
